Abstract: | ABSTRACT: This research is under1aken from a Textual Lingistics apptoach. The purpouse is to analyze, from a semanticpragmatic point of view, the use of coordinating conjunctions in texts written by students who take the course of "Comp rension y Expresión Lingüística 11". It intends to group, according to Van D,ik 's classification, the coordinating conjunctiosn taken out of texs written by thesse students: to determine the frequency of use of thesse structures; and, finally, to axnalize their use. This research corresponds toa descriptive study. Consequently, a section iss assigned to each coordinating conjuction according to is significative function , taking onto account the following criteria; a) description of the uses that stud ents give thesee structures by meanss of tables; and b) analys is of uses, based, on the examples taken out of the argumentative texts written by students. Finally, we obtain severa results. Among others, there is a co incidence betwen Van Dijk 's classification and the coordinating conjunction used by students, though a percentage of them did not use them, and real conditionals. As a conclution, we infer the neceessity of systematically these structures that are crucial to the elaboration of cpohernt written message. |
