LIDERAZGO CUMANÉS EN LA CONFORMACIÓN DEL ESTADO EN EL SIGLO XIX.1848-1863

Abstract

RESUMEN: Se aborda aquí el problema del liderazgo cumanés durante el siglo XIX comprometido con la conformación de un orden social en torno al modelo de Estado liberal nacional, analizado ese liderazgo en sus vertientes caudillista y político civil. La interpretación histórica se fundamentó en ideas provenientes de las tesis sobre un Proyecto Nacional latinoamericano y venezolano, la del personalismo político hispanoamericano y también la del pluralismo político. Metodológicamente se trabajó con las agendas de procedimíentos de las ciencias sociales, de la historia y, particularmente, los de la historia regional y local. El resultado principal es la comprobación de una significativa generación de líderes caudistas y políticos civiles convertidos en actores estelares del proceso político regional cumanés a favor del establecimiento de un proyecto nacional del orden social liberal y federalista vinculado al contexto republicano. Se concluyó reafirmando la importancia de los estudios regionales para la creación de una historiografía moderna, y reiterando la vigencia e importancia del liderazgo cumanés del siglo XIX y su relación con el marco histórico global. ABSTRACT: This paper deals with the leardership exerted by sorne important people in Cumaná during the XIXth century, people involved in the formation of a new social order based on a liberal nation as conceived by the «caudillos» and political learders of the time. The historical interpretation is based on ideas born out of the theses about a Latín American and Venezuelan National Project, that o fLatin American political personalism as well as that of pluralistic politics. From a methodological point ofview, we used the methods of social sciences, history, and, particularly, regional and local history. The main result was to find proof of the existence in Cumaná of an important generation of leaders converted into the main actors of the a regional political process that was aimed at establishing a national project of the liberal and federal kind within a republican context. The conclusion reaffirms the importance of regional studies in order to create a modern historiography, the constant presence and importance of these leaders from Cumaná in the XIXth century, and their historical relation to the global historical framework.
